Delete your account

You can delete your Pairstead account at any time, and it takes one button. This page says where the button is, what it removes, and what to do if you cannot get into your account.
If you can sign in
- Open Pairstead — the app on your phone, or the website.
- Go to You, then Account, and scroll to the bottom.
- Press Delete account and confirm.
It is done straight away. There is nothing to wait for and nobody has to approve it.
What is removed
- Your account: your name, email address and password.
- Your own profile, including anything you kept private, and your own notes.
- If you were the last person in your shared home, the home itself — the chores, money, calendar and everything else in it.
If your partner is still in the home, the home stays for them, because it is theirs too. What you added to it stays there as part of it; you can ask for it to be taken out as well (below).
What lasts a little longer
Pairstead keeps daily backups of its database in case a disk breaks. A copy taken before you deleted your account still contains it until that copy is replaced — within about a week on the server, and on the computer of the person who runs Pairstead once ten newer copies have been taken. Backups are never read except to put Pairstead back after something has gone wrong. The privacy page has the details.
If you cannot sign in
Write from the email address you signed up with to hello@getpairstead.com with the subject Delete my Pairstead account, and say if you would also like what you added to a shared home removed. It will be deleted by hand, usually within a week, and you will be written back to when it is done.
